DSpace Installation Technique on Fedora-18

 # chmod -R 777 /dspace

# java -version

#ant -version

#mvn -version

# su - postgres

-bash-4.2$ pg_ctl initdb

-bash-4.2$ exit

# systemctl start postgresql.service

# useradd -m dspace

# createuser -U postgres -d -A -P dspace

Enter password for new role: el123 / Enter it again: el123

# createdb -U dspace -E UNICODE dspace

Browse to /dspace/dspace-3.1/build.properties


# DSpace installation directory.

dspace.install.dir=/dspace/dspace-inst

# Name of the site

dspace.name = DSpace at JISCE

##########################

# DATABASE CONFIGURATION #

##########################

db.password=el123


 

# chown dspace /dspace/dspace-inst

# cd /dspace/dspace-3.1

# mvn -o package

# cd /dspace/dspace-3.1/dspace/target/dspace-3.1-build

# ant fresh_install

Start up your servlet container (Tomcat etc.) [echo] You should then be able to access your DSpaces home page:

[echo]http://localhost:8080/xmlui
